Music at All Saints
Music is an important part of our worship of God – it has the ability to lift and inspire us in a way that words alone can’t do. We have a great tradition of choral singing at All Saints which stretches back for more than a century. The choir sings regularly at Sunday services and at weddings, and choral music makes our Christmas and Easter celebrations atmospheric and memorable.
Paul Hudson made a huge contribution to the life of All Saints as organist and choirmaster for an incredible thirty-nine years. We said goodbye to Paul in December 2018, and then the search was on for someone who could build on our rich musical tradition and take it forwards. We are delighted that Ian Watts has been appointed as our new Director of Music from September 2019. Ian, currently conductor of Carlton Male Voice Choir, brings energy and dynamism to his music-making, and has a special passion for growing choirs and helping people to discover that they can sing. Choir practices will begin again on Thursday evenings from 6 September. If you are even tentatively interested in joining the choir, do get in touch.
